RHEL/CentOS 6 end of life (EOL) is coming in November 30, 2020. How does this affect us?
In ACE 8.4, which is scheduled for release in March of 2021, the support for RHEL/CentOS 6 will be dropped and support for RHEL/CentOS 8 will be added. Support for RHEL/CentOS 7.4 and up, along with Windows 10, will be continued.
Table: Versions of RHEL/CentOS supported in ACE 8.2 - ACE 8.4
|6||7.0 - 7.3||7.4+||8|
Why doesn't Achronix support RHEL/CentOS 7.0-7.3?
Because RHEL/CentOS 7.4 was the first version to include the stable 3.22 version of the GTK+3 libraries. Earlier versions of the GTK+3 libraries (as found in RHEL/CentOS 7.0-7.3) would potentially exhibit problems in the ACE GUI.
What if we need support for RHEL/CentOS 7.0-7.3 and/or 6?
If you need continued support for RHEL/CentOS 7.0-7.3 and/or 6, please contact Achronix customer support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will there be any changes to the support offered by Synopsys for Synplify Pro?
Yes, Synopsys will be dropping support for CentOS/RHEL 6, 7.1 and 7.2 after their March 2021 Synplify Pro release.
